GRIP FAQs

What is a GRIP?

A GRIP is a three-part process, onsite* or virtual, led by an advisor to evaluate your current firm needs for growth or improvement. A GRIP starts with a comprehensive firm analysis and ends with the Goal Ready Implementation Plan, a prioritized list of recommendations for your firm including a blueprint and timeline for execution.

*With an onsite GRIP, the comprehensive firm analysis occurs onsite while the other two components are completed virtually.

What to expect with a GRIP?

You can expect at least 3 meetings with a transformation partner to share requested information and receive your Goal Ready Implementation Plan.

How long is a GRIP engagement?

A GRIP is comprised of at least 3 scheduled meetings. A typical GRIP is completed in less than 4 weeks depending on communication between you and your transformation partner.

How many GRIPs will a firm need?

Hopefully just one! A GRIP is intended to help you prioritize your goals and objectives that are aligned with your vision. If your vision changes, you could sign up for another GRIP.

Who is a GRIP for?

A GRIP is for the accounting firm that wants to implement improvements but wants recommendations or confirmation of the optimal way to go about it. A GRIP will provide the blueprint to turn a vision into a reality.

What comes after a GRIP?

The accountant's favorite answer, "It depends." A Goal Ready Implementation Plan is a prioritized list of recommendations for your firm including a blueprint and timeline for execution. With your GRIP there are 3 main ways to proceed:

1. You can choose to execute on your own in a DIY approach.

2. You can take your plan and the support of a Forum to execute and implement your plan.

3. Your advisor can meet with monthly for support and guidance along with weekly accountability by signing up for Advisory.

What happens after my GRIP if I still don't have a grip on my firm?

We would recommend moving forward with a Collective by DBA Forum or Advisory engagement.

What is a transformation partner?

An advisor is a Collective by DBA team member with accounting industry expertise who will gather firm data, prioritize goals and objectives, and develop your Goal Ready Implementation Plan.

How does onsite GRIP work?

An advisor will schedule a time to come to your location for the comprehensive firm analysis. They will spend one business day in your office to gather pertinent information and data to develop your GRIP. The detail and alignment verification as well as the delivery of the Goal Ready Implementation Plan will occur virtually.

Is Collective by DBA or an advisor available for other engagements outside of a GRIP?

Yes, a GRIP is a great first step for subsequent engagements including Forums and Advisory.
